Title: Koinonia
Description: I created this piece as a donation to a local charity called Camp Koinonia in East Tn. The camp is for children with multiple disabilities and gives them a chance to ride horses, go canoeing and share time with each other and their counselors. The sculpture is designed to symbolically represent the Fellowship and Community of Care that the Camp Koinonia Staff and Counselors are able to bring to the lives of the beautiful children who are able to participate in an ‘Experience that will last a Lifetime’. It was auctioned off at their annual gala in June 2010 and it raised a nice sum of money to help with the cost to send more children to camp. Koinonia (coy-no-NEE-uh) is the Greek word meaning communion by intimate participation or fellowship.

Title: The Four Elements of Woman
Description: This quadtych is subtitled "Gathering at Greystone", with Greystone being the name of our neighborhood. I conceived of this piece and created it for my wife and her three close friends in the neighborhood. Each piece is named for the woman and also alliteratively named for one of the vital elements that I believe make up a woman. So, starting with the Black Marble and going clockwise: Robbeline represents "Radiance", Gail represents "Grace", Laurie represents "Laughter" and Kelley (my wife) represents "Kindness". My intent here was to symbolically show the sisterly nature of the four friends and how they get together and converse and represent all that is good about womankind with her various wonderful elements.

My urge to create is overwhelming. My inspirations are many. The endless quest to
capture the human form in all of its beauty is a driving force in my figurative work. To
make a piece of stone appear to come to life is my ultimate goal. For my abstract work,
nature has provided a bountiful supply of inspirations in the form of organic shapes that
are everywhere I look. It could be the gracefu ...... more
