A native of North Carolina, Ann Rowles received her MFA in Sculpture from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and taught sculpture and drawing at
UNC-Chapel Hill, NC Central University, and Western Carolina University. In 1995 she
moved to Atlanta, GA, where she is a studio artist at the Atlanta Contemporary Art
Center. Her awards include the North Carolina Arts Council Visual Artist Fellowship,
the Triangle Arts Award in Visual Arts presented by The Independent Weekly (Durham,
NC) and the Emerging Artist Grant from the Durham Arts Council. She has exhibited
widely in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions and is affiliated with
SOHO20 Gallery in New York City.
